Brush and Felt Tippers

A normal hot rod tipper always produces the sound of dowels clicking. While the volume as well as the number of dowels involved varies depending on the attack intensity, it’s always the typical clicking sound you get.

The "big thing" about my brush tippers is that they combine a "swish" sound with the wooden attack sound of a normal tipper. So these tippers offer the possibility to create basic groove rhythms with really strong accents produced by the solid wooden head of the tipper.

Even an unexperienced bodhrán player will easily be able to create a really groovy rhythm even with just a basic beat pattern!

All tippers shown on this page are made of macassar, black hornwood or olive wood. Of course, I am also happy to make them from other types of wood or in different shapes upon request.
